BACHOK, Jan 15 (Bernama) -- Menteri Besar Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat confirmed today that the state government, through the Kelantan Menteri Besar Incorporated, will buy back the "Bazar Tok Guru" worth RM23 million due to technical problem.
The actual price was still under negotiation with the bazaar's developer Sensa Timur, he said.
"I can only confirm that the state government has to buy back the bazaar complex which is under construction due to technical reason and to protect the interest of traders," he told reporters after opening the Asyura Porridge Fest in Kampung Sri Kemunting, Beah, near here today.
He was commenting on a blog entry which claimed that the state government had to bear losses for buying back the complex.
"I am also giving the assurance that traders who will be moved from Arkid Uda and Pasar Lama MPKB will be given priority to occupy the lots on the ground floor of the bazaar as previously agreed," he said.
Meanwhile, Nik Aziz said, the Kelantan government would meet religious leaders, including Christians and Buddhists, to enhance relations following arson attempts on churches in the country.
